Not so Wordless Wednesday

Yesterday, the weather in Phoenix went a little psycho. Like, Lindsay Lohan meets Amber from Teen Mom meets Kathy Bates in Misery psycho. The Weather Channel told me winds were reaching 60 miles per hour, planes were grounded, and there was mention of a tornado. In Arizona. That's why we live here - no tornados. When I looked out the window at 4:30, it looked like it was 8:00 at night: dark and doomy and gloomy. I texted Dan and told him to be careful driving home, and he sent back this:

That's the windshield of Dan's car. And that's just the damage to the driver's side. There are about 5 more of those spidery glass breaks on the other side. The car also looks like it was hit with little ball peen hammers on every surface. There are dents everywhere, and I truly mean everywhere, I'm not exaggerating. I'm so thankful he's okay. It could have been so much worse. We've called the insurance company and we'll hopefully be able to get it inspected and have the glass replaced quickly. There's so much damage to so much of the car, that it may be totaled. We'll just have to wait and see.

UPDATE: Dan talked to the insurance company, and the car is a total loss. Poor Altima. I'm a little sad, but good things will come out of this. It needed some front end work and had about 170K miles on it. We'll be able to take the pay-out and get something that will last us longer (hopefully). Not to mention, we'll be able to insure the new car (the Altima was on my parents' policy) with the Murano and save money. Silver linings, I suppose.

I'm so glad Dan is ok. The weather here has been crazy lately too. Tornados in Queens, NY? Don't think so. Because, like you, that is why I live here...no tornados. If this crap keeps up we are moving.
